2: Make a Backup of Computer.

It’s very important to take the backup of your Mac. Before installing any Upgrade because upgrade process may damage your information and documents, so it’s reason able to have a choice to get back your Mac on the start where it was. without losing any information or documents. You can use a time machine which is a built-in backup feature in macOS. this will automatically backup all of your files including, Apps, music, photos, emails and all your information even your operating system files.

With Time Machine you will need an external drive to take your macOS Full Backup, So connect your External Drive first and navigate to “Apple Logo”, and “System Preference”, and look for “Time Machine” and open Time Machine.

Click Select Backup Disk to Confirm the External Disk.

Select your external drive from the list of available disks. Then select ”Encrypt backups” (recommended) and click Use Disk:

Once you confirm the backup disk. the backup process will start automatically. As shown in the image below.

If the disk you selected isn’t formatted as required by Time Machine, you’re prompted to erase the disk first. Click Erase to proceed. This erases all information on the backup disk. 

If your external disk isn’t formatted as required by Time Machine, you’ll be Prompted to erase the disk first, click on erase to format the external drive.

Note: make to copy the documents stored on the external drive on saving storage formatting the disk will erase all the information stored on the drive.

The backup process will be done without any further action you only have to wait for the process, this first backup will be time-consuming, this will search for all file and information stored in your Mac. Enjoy using your Mac while a backup process is underway.

3: Download macOS High Sierra from App Store.
