But in virtual environments, virtual machine functions as a real computer which includes all the resources needed for an Operating system. So we have to create a virtual machine for macOS Mojave Installation. Follow the steps on how to create this.
From your, Windows Start Menu, Search for VMware Workstation Pro and Open.
After Opening VMware Workstation Pro on the home page, the following options are given: create a new virtual machine, open an existing virtual machine, a virtual machine can be opened by connecting to a VMware Remote Server or VMware vCloud Air could be connected to. Now here, let’s “Create a New Virtual machine”.
The most recommended installation process for every application is a typical installation. Go with a typical installation process which is recommended.
At this point, choices are provided between installing from an installation disc and installing from installation media like a DVD installer for an operating system. Now, specific disk capacity is required and the hard disk is the main part for any operating system. You must have sufficient space to install an operating system. In VMware virtual machine, you have to allocate a minimum of 30 GB, and store the hard disk file as a single file.
And then, you are ready to click finish unless I want to customize my virtual machine hardware in the virtual machine setting.
Step 6: Edit the Virtual Machine
The main purpose of editing Virtual machine settings is to configure the virtual machine for macOS Mojave requirements such as Ram and Processor. At the end, we have to add the macOS Mojave VMware image for this installation, click on “Edit Virtual Machine Settings” as shown in the image below.
On the Virtual Machine Settings page, the very initial first thing we have to do is to increase the Ram. Therefore, click on Ram from the left navigation and increase the memory for Virtual machine.
Hereafter, we have to increase the processor now. For this, from the left menu, click on the processor and increase the number of the processor from the drop-down. A sum total of 4 cores are required for macOS Mojave.
Now, click on the hard disk and remove the hard disk which VMware created and attempt to replace it with your existing macOS Mojave VMware image.
Now, it’s time to add the image which we have downloaded and extracted with WinRAR. Click on the “Add” button.
In the add hardware wizard, select hard disk. Secondly, click on next. Here, you have to select SATA and then press Next to step forward.
On the virtual disk page, you are left with three options which are: to create a new virtual disk, use the existing disk and use a physical disk. We have to select the second option to use the existing image. Then go to next.
Use the browse button to open the location where the “macOS Mojave VMware Image” file is stored in order to select disk. Select it and click on “Finish”.
You have successfully selected your Existing disk for macOS Mojave Installation. Click on “Finish” followed by (Keep Existing Format).
You are done with the editing of virtual machine settings for macOS Mojave. Click on “OK” to close the windows
Step 7: Editing the VMX File
Once, the customization setting of the virtual machine is completed, you should pull this to insert code into the macOS VMX file. At this point, navigate macOS virtual machine files and open (macOS Mojave). “.vmx “file with Notepad. If you are unable to find Notepad to open there, click on Choose another app, and scroll down to select Notepad.

As it begins to start up, before the welcome screen, you will see a popup window. This popup window asks if you want to connect to disk (XYZ) every time you power on the virtual machine. Hence, you have to avoid this by clicking NO. This is because of the disk we created while creating the virtual machine, then we remove that and add the existing image file.
Booting macOS Mojave will take some time as it depends on your configuration and performance of the system.
On the welcome of the very first page of macOS Mojave, you have to confirm your country and region. Next click “Continue” to proceed the installation.
On the second page, you will be asked to select your keyboard layout. In case you don’t see the keyboard layout of your choice, click “Show All”, and select your desired layout from the list, then click “Continue”.

Like every other operating system, macOS Mojave also has this policy of agreement to its terms and conditions. It’s important to know if you are new to macOS. To agree on the Terms and Conditions, Click on “Agree”,
And secondly, press “Agree” to the option of “I have read and agree to the macOS Software license agreement”.
It is likely that you will need to create a local computer account, and secure your virtual Mac with a login password. Simply enter your details for “Full Name” and “Account Name”. Next, type a “Password” which secures your Virtual Mac, and give a “hint” to remember the login password.

Once the next window has loaded, you will see the title “Software Update”. Click on that to check for update.
